Green Fields Nursery School true to it's name is a home away from home where an imaginative & colourful ambience is provided to nurture the carefree young saplings till they blossom. 2022-23
Visit to Rail Museum

On February 15th and 16th , 2023, the students of nursery and preparatory class students visited the National Railway Museum in New Delhi, which focuses on India's railway heritage. Children will be delighted with the toy train that goes around the museum. The students were amazed at the wagons, buses, and locomotives on display in the exhibition room. Students will be presented with a new addition to the Railway Museum, namely 'Miniature India', which includes both old and new townships with various modes of transport such as road, rail, metro and air transport.



Competitions

Memories the words that might be asked in the spelling bee competition of prep spellathon competition conducted in Greenfields Nursery School which make the children more confident.

On the Hindi Recitation Competition hosted by GFNS, nursery pupils display their best hindi language expressions. Through this competition, the event intended to showcase the young toddlers' creativity in the use of the hindi language.



Health Camp

Wellness checkups at schools’ programs that support the maintenance and enhancement of students' wellbeing. By centralising the digital storage of pupils' health records, it also benefits the school.



Model of the hut

A model was made as a group activity in the class with hay, twigs, dry grass , straw, paper , cardboards, paints. The kids enjoyed the activity to its fulest. The importance of house and home was well understood .In a little but happening way kids understood the importance of the hardships in building a house.

Republic Day Art

The Republic Day marked the commencement of the constitution of our country .Kids drew the national flag and decorated with colours to honour its existance and significance.

Steam Activity

Day and night are very commonly experienced in day to day life. The solar system and its part the Earth, seasons and sun were well related with science and occurance of day-night explaines with activity. Glode, candle and darkness had a remarkable experience in understanding day-night.

Magnet attracts iron property was very well explained through power point presentations and smart class videos .Great emphasis was given to the use of this property of magnet.



Special Week Celebration

Unity in diversity was very well explained through role play, activities and public speaking . All gathered with love and respect for their nation.

Competition

Spellathon was organized in prep class. Lots of practice and revisions made this difficult competition a hit amongst the kids.

Celebrations

This month had a lots of celebrations in its bossom. Republic Day and Vasant Panchami was a real joy for kids. Every where the patriotic fervour and the start of Spring was visible.







Colouring in the kite

The onset of spring was celebrated with colouring in kite and worshipping Goddess Saraswati. The kids enjoyed the celebration and performed dance too.

Special Assembly

The theme of the month was houses , and nothing better can be a special assembly to make the kids learn the benefits of living in a house.

Collage of bulding materials

A group activity of collage making was done based on the theme of the month , the houses.Kids will be made to understand the raw materials used to make a house.

Stem Activities

Stem activities furnish youngsters with a brilliant probability for integrated learning, hands-on discovery, and diversifications to make sure training reach students of all ranges of ability. STEM transforms faculty and training from an area to a country of the mind. Our GFNS organizes walking water for PREP and water has no shapes for NURSERY.

Non Fire Cooking

Fireless cooking not only teaches cooking to children but also teaches them some valuable abilities in life. This encourages children’s creativity, thinking, and problem-solving skills. With this, our young stars improved their information of basic competencies like measuring, counting, and following instructions. Therefore, GFNS organizes corn chaat for nursery children.

Christmas Celebration

Christmas in general is celebrated as the birth of Jesus Christ but in the actual sense, it symbolizes the truth of religious life. His birth converted the lives of the people

Competition

Healthy Competition evokes youngsters to do their best. When children compete they will become more inquisitive, research independently and learn to work with others. They will try to do extra than is required. these skills put together kids for future conditions of all kinds. Therefore, our GFNS organized a fancy dress competition for NURSERY and a Show and Tell Competition for PREP.

Visit to Fire Station

Educational visits become part of the academic experience. Such visits help students understand different topics. GFNS organized educational visits to fire stations to understand their importance to society.

Visit to Post Office

Schools that include field trips in their curriculum offer students the joy of discovery and the opportunity to learn new things through travel. Educational trips are a great way for students and educators to exchange ideas and put theory into practice. Therefore, GFNS organized a post office visit for the children.

Germination

Nature and plant life was discussed with kids .Teachers framed various activities to make the kids aware of the importance of plant life in our everyday life. The varied types of plants were discussed in details .The kids planted seeds in small pots, watered them and placed them in sunlight for growing.

Children’s Day

The birthday of our first Prime Minister is dedicated for the little ones as Children’s Day. This day was made special for our kids GFNS from morning till noon. Every corner was decorated with fun, colours and happiness . Various stalls were put up for the little ones – food, games, tattoos , music and dance were to name a few. Fun frolic and laughter marked the D- day .



Traffic Awareness Week

Learning with fun is the motive of GFNS. Thus to train the kids in traffic safety rules a “Traffic Awareness Week”was observed.



Steam Activity

In preps germination and effects of closing of leaf pores was a part of this month’s curriculum. In nursery chromatography and mixing of red with blue to form purple was the main steam activities.

Fancy Dress Competition

Prep had a Fancy dress competition based on the theme "TRADITIONAL ATTIRE OF INDIAN STATES". All the students were dressed up in various traditional costumes and conversed in english and the common languages and tone of the specific states. It was a fabulous experience.

Dussehra Celebrations

"Dussehra is one of the festivals and celebrations that India is renowned for, and it is distinctive in its meaning and perception". Festivals are a time for celebration and provide happiness and harmony to all. They offer a powerful opportunity to honour illustrious culture, legacy, and customs. For the Dussehra celebration, GFNS planned educational and entertaining activities for the young ones, including a role play in which the young ones dressed up elegantly to portray their favourite Ramayana mythological character. Perfect in their elegance, confidence, and expressiveness, the kids playing these parts were wonderful. Our principle of "learning by doing" was reflected in the celebration.





Bhaiya Dooj Celebration

Hindus celebrate the unwavering love between a brother and a sister on Bhai Dooj or Bhaiya Dooj. In an effort to deepen their link, Bhai Dooj defines the enduring affection between siblings.

Diwali Celebration

GFNS students enthusiastically celebrated Diwali. Our young students have proven that creativity and talent know no bounds. On this occasion, the students presented a beautiful dance from the Nursery and Prep, filling our hearts and minds with love and harmony. The students talked about the meaning of the festival – good always triumphs over evil it also explains why and how Diwali is celebrated across India. In addition to raising the awareness of students on the negative effects of crackers, they also shared guidelines for environmental considerations. The whole program filled the hearts of all the students with the spirit of Diwali and they enjoyed the celebration wholeheartedly.



Govardhan Puja

Govardhan Puja, sometimes referred to as Annakut or Annakoot (literally, a "mountain of food"), is a Hindu festival during which devotees worship Govardhan Hill and prepare and present a wide array of vegetarian food to Krishna as an expression of thanks.



Chhath Puja

Chhath Puja is celebrated to thank the Sun God and offer him gratitude. People also worship Chhathi Maiya, the sister of the Sun God. Chhath Puja lasts for four days.



Competitions

Competitions offer a chance for participants to gain substantial experience, showcase skills, analyse and evaluate outcomes and uncover personal aptitude. Competitions also encourage students to adopt innovative techniques and develop their ideas and skills. Therefore GFNS organized a DANCE competition for PREP and a SHOW AND TELL Competition for the nursery.



Non-fire Cooking

In order to battle the heat during this oppressive summer, it becomes vital to replenish and refresh our bodies with some cool liquids. To expose our youngsters to such a tasty beverage, GFNS. Organized a Monaco biscuit decoration for the Nursery students.



STEM Activity

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) activities have a significant positive impact on children. Even the most straightforward pursuits offer. There are many chances for children to learn about and explore STEM. As a result, GFNS organized an activity called ELECTROSTATIC CHARGE for the Prep students.

Onam Celebrations

Onam is a famous festival of Kerala. People celebrate the return of their King Mahabali. Thus kids at GFNS celebrated this festival with role play, dance and flower rangoli. Everywhere there were flowers and air was filled with its flagrance.





Teacher's Day

Every year Dr. RadhaKrishnan’s birthday is celebrated as Teacher’s Day. Teacher’s day was celebrated at GFNS with kid’s dance. Kids were excited to welcome their teachers’ with wishes and beautiful quotes.

Nutrition Week

Nutritional week was held from 26th – 30th September. Special menu was designed for the kids lunch break. Balanced diet pyramid (also kids called it healthy plate ) was made , where kids stuck coloured pictures . Teachers explained the importance of healthy diet and significance of having everything organic as well as healthy .



Drama on Ramayan

Kids did the role of Ramayan , the nurserians and prep kids to mark the advent of Navratri. The scenes started with Ram janam and ended to Ayodhya return of Ram ji with Sita mata and Laxmanji.



Dussehra Craft

The colours of Dussehra festivities was shown in the Ravaan drawing by prep. Nursery kids too drew Ravana face in the drawing files.



Cold Cooking

Various cold cooking activities was held. In prep sandwich was made and relished by the kids . While making it the importance of each ingredient was discussed in details.



Germination

The science of nature and the birth of huge tree from a small seeds was well explained through the process of germination. The natural process of seedling to plant and finally tree is done by planting seeds in the pots , watering them in sunlight at regular intervals .

Collage of Vegetables

A collage of picture cut outs was made by the nursery on underground veggies.



Art & Craft

a) Making of balanced diet pyramid - Kids stuck food of various kinds, vitamins and minerals to balance the food requirement of our body. This activity made them realise the importance of the individual food intake.

b) Vegetable printing - Vegetable printing craft was done on various fruit and vegetable cut outs to make the kids enjoy the learnings of healthy eating.

c) Making of flower rangoli - Flower rangoli is the traditional ritual in Onam celebration. Kids of both prep and nursery enjoyed in making rangoli with the varied coloured petals and leaves.





Competitions

The competitions held in prep was Dance Competition while in nursery it was Clay Moulding. In dance kids entertained everyone with their confident moves and best facial expressions. And in clay moulding the little hands showed their creativity and made every body spellbound.



Independence Day

India celebrates its independence day on 15th august every year. Independence Day reminds us of all the sacrifices that were made by our freedom fighters to make India free from British rule. Therefore, GFNS organised Independence Day celebration for the students of Prep and Nursery.

Raksha Bandhan

India’s festivals reflect the country’s rich Cultural multiplicity. Breaking the monotones of daily routine. These festivals brings with them a wave of excitement happiness, and hope even in the most difficult time. On this auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, GFNS School organised function and activities to make students understand the true essence of this festival and the sacred relation of brother and sister.

Janmashtami

Janmashtami, the birth of Lord Krishna was celebrated with great spectacle and festivity by the tiny tots of GFNS Nursery and Prep students .Dressed as Radha Krishna children gave a traditional touch to the entire celebration. There was a Handi hanging at the centre of the courtyard and the cute Radha Krishna pairs dance around them to the beat of Janmashtami songs filling the air with joy and festive spirit.

Ganesh Chaturthi

Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated to the birth of Lord Ganesha. Ganesha who is considered to be superior to all Gods is also widely worshipped as a God of wisdom. On this auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi GFNS organised a special assembly along with an activity to make the children understand the importance of festivals in our life.

STEM Activity

STEM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths. STEM is important not only for the creative growth of children, but also valuable for boosting problem solving and communication skills. Therefore GFNS organised STEM activates for Nursery and Prep.

Competition of the month

Competition is one of the academic activities that give students creative room to express what they feel. Our school has set the benchmark for conducting activities in such a way that the students not only enjoy but also learn a great deal from it .Few competitions of this month that held are:

Playing with Shape

Triangle and square was used to make houses by the nursery sections. Triangle shapped fish was also made with the guidance of the teachers. They enjoyed it with a learning. They learnt the concept of joining shapes and relate it to the real life situations.

Colour day

Green colour day was observed in this month. The blackboard, the bulletin board and the display tables was full of green cut outs and real life objects. Children were able to visualize the colour everywhere. The flower activity with green capsicum printing made their learning complete.



Monsoon Mania

To observe the monsoon season at Green Fields Nursery School activities were designed , like the nursery made clouds with cotton balls. Frog making with finger printing, mushroom red painting as well as finger printing and corn paper balls pasting activity was done by the Prep.

Cleanliness Week

Green Fields Nursery School observed the Cleanliness week from 18th to 22nd of the month. Assembly programmes were dedicated to the theme. Every day a teacher assigned would display the facts related to cleanliness to make the kids aware of the cleanliness habits and reasons for the same. Activity like cotton pasting on teeth was done too. In craft preps made the dustbin. Health and hygiene Day was observed to mark the significance of the week. The best neatly dressed students were awarded.

Steam Activity

In nursery the colour pink was discovered with mixing of red and white colour. The kids were happy to play with colour and discover a new happening. Likewise in prep "Rain creation" was done. The formation of clouds was shown with shaving foam, water and colours. It was an interesting session for the kids. Flower Craft - Dissection of the flower was done in the art files.

Non Fire Cooking

Bhelpuri making was done to make them understand the importance of food and enjoy the skills of cooking.



Competition of the month

Tearing and pasting Competition was held in Nursery. Clay moulding competition was held in Prep.





Happiness Curriculum

A special curriculum has been added in the syllabus of both nursery and prep to ensure a happy development of the kids Every week 2 period are dedicated to two types of activities like yoga or Simon says .Every fortnightly the activities change accordingly.

Non fire cooking – Lemonade

In this tormented summer, it gets essential to refresh andplenish our body with some cool liquid refreshment to beat theheat. To introduce our little one to such delicious drink, GFNSorganised a Lemonade Activity for the student of class Nurseryand Prep .



Summer Activity

Green Fields Nursery School organised various summer activitiesto energizing and challenge the little one, who had to enhancetheir thinking ability to complete these activities such as Fanfolding, Tearing and Pasting on watermelon and Mango etc.

Stem Activity

STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math and activities involving these fields have a huge impact on kids. Even the simplest activities provide numerous opportunities for kids to learn and explore STEM. Therefore, GFNS organised a melting of ice activity for the student of class Prep and Marie Gold crushing activity and Bubble activity for Nursery.

Rabindra Jayanti

Rabindra Jayanti is an annually celebrated cultural festival, the birth anniversary of the Bengal poet, scholar novelist, humanist, philosopher RabindranathTagor. Therefore the school also pays tribute to this great legend by holding a function.

Mother’s Day Celebrations

"When you look into your mothers eyes, you know that is the purest love you can find on this earth. Mother's love is the purest form of love in this world, and she is the greatest blessing for a child by God. Therefore, GFNS organised Mother's day celebration for the students of Prep and Nursery.

Earth Day Celebrations

Earth day is an annual event on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. The first thing kids needs to understand is that we only have one Earth and its our job to make sure it stays clean and healthy.Therefore GFNS teachers talk about all the different aspects of Earth (from 19th to 22nd celebrating Earth week) like
