Every journey begins with a simple step. The new academic year started with warmth and joy as we welcomed our kindergarten students to an exciting year of learning and growing. The little ones were greeted with a traditional tilak, a delightful flower shower, a fun photoshoot, and lots of cheerful smiles. It was a beautiful beginning to a year full of amazing experiences, new friendships, and caring teachers.
Creativity is a powerful form of learning. Our students enjoyed making hand fans using colorful origami sheets. This engaging activity not only sparked their imagination but also helped develop patience and hand-eye coordination.

GFNS joyfully observed Earth Week with a series of engaging and educational activities aimed at raising awareness about environmental conservation. The week focused on important topics such as Save Water, Save Earth, Save Trees, Save Electricity, and the Three Rs – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. These themes were explored both during the school assemblies and through classroom discussions, encouraging students to adopt eco-friendly habits.
Our Prep students participated in a fun-filled sponge painting activity, creating beautiful Earth- shaped cutouts. This hands-on experience allowed them to express their creativity while understanding the importance of protecting our planet.
Nursery children celebrated Earth Day with a cotton and sponge dabbing activity on hanging decorations. This sensory-rich craft brought joy and helped them connect with the theme of Earth Day in a playful manner.
To highlight the significance of trees in sustaining life, our little learners enthusiastically took part in a tree plantation activity. They learned about the basic elements needed to plant a tree – seeds, soil, and water. The excitement was evident as many expressed a desire to replicate the experience at home. Earth Week at GFNS was a delightful blend of learning, creativity, and action—instilling in our students the values of care and responsibility towards our planet.
Nursery students joyfully celebrated Red Day with great enthusiasm. The classrooms were adorned with red-themed items such as red chairs, red balloons, red balls, red apples, red tomatoes, red pencils, and red strawberries. The vibrant display helped students identify and connect with the colour red in a fun and engaging way.
The spring harvest festival of Punjab, Baisakhi, was celebrated on 14th April with zeal. Students performed a traditional Punjabi dance and were given an insightful explanation about the festival and its cultural significance. The event helped students appreciate the diversity of Indian traditions.
As part of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education, students explored the properties of water. They learned that water has no fixed shape or colour and conducted hands-on colour-mixing activities. This activity made learning scientific concepts both engaging and enjoyable.
Prep students participated in a STEAM activity focused on the melting of ice. Through this experiment, they observed the transformation of ice from solid to liquid. The students not only enjoyed the sensory experience of touching ice but also gained an understanding of the physical change from ice to water.
International Dance Day was celebrated on 29th April with energy and grace. Green Fields Nursery School joined the global celebration with students performing various dance forms, including classical and Zumba. Each class danced to rhythmic music, and the special assembly performances brought joy to all. The day highlighted the expressive power of dance and its role in cultural celebration.
Yellow Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm, highlighting the significance of the color yellow. Known for symbolizing happiness, positivity, and optimism, yellow was seen all around in various decorations and displays. The vibrant environment made the day visually delightful and emotionally uplifting for everyone involved.
Rabindra Jayanti, celebrated on May 7th, commemorates the birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore — a renowned poet, novelist, philosopher, and Nobel Laureate from West Bengal. The celebration honored his immense contribution to literature and art. Children performed beautiful musical and dance presentations, showcasing the cultural richness inspired by Tagore’s legacy.
Mother’s Day was celebrated with heartfelt emotions and joy. At GFNS, students expressed their love and gratitude through a melodious heart dance performance. They also made creative cards and crafts, lovingly dedicated to their mothers, making the day special and memorable.
Summer Camp Week marked the joyful beginning of summer and vacation time. Exciting activities like lemonade making, splash pool fun, an ice cream party, and a summer-themed dance kept the students thoroughly entertained. The children splashed around joyfully in the pool, enjoyed delicious ice cream, and danced to lively summer tunes. Their laughter and happiness were beautifully captured in photos and videos, reflecting the spirit of carefree fun.
